Feast of St. Clare

Today we remember St. Clare of Assisi, the 1st woman follower of St. Francis of Assisi. Her radical choice to leave her aristocratic family and live a life of poverty changed the course of female vocations in the Church. She's known to hold the first hunger strike when the Church authorities wanted to relax her Rule of poverty.

There was a solemn Mass celebrated by the Patriarch at the Poor Clare Monastery in Talpiot, just outside Jerusalem. I guess it was a big affair as I wasn't there.

The cramps have subsided and so has the diarrhea ... the virus is on the way out. But I still have an occasional fever which keeps me in bed. And some sore joints as well.
