A record 3400 new infections in the past 24 hrs. No words to describe the situation. And a couple positive with coronavirus took a plane and flew out of the country ... there is no system of checks, trekking and tracing. The country has crashed.

| Only cacti love the heat |
Instead of a lockdown, the govt was cowed into imposing a night curfew in 40 areas. And noticeably missing from the list is the Old City whose infection rate is very very high. Obviously the reason behind this omission is the holy sites of the Wailing Wall, the Al Aqsa mosque and the Holy Sepulchre church. Mind you of all these 3 places, the Holy Sepulchre alone is practicing a voluntary partial close down. The other 2 places are full of people. Religious leaders who should be caring for their followers' wellbeing are not doing their job and on the contrary, even encourage people to gather to pray. The consequence is dire and the payback will hit them hard ... a congregation decimated by sickness and death. Then, it'll be too late to regret ... and those religious leaders will be held accountable. Well maybe. Here some religious leaders are not above the law ... they are the law. The govt bows to them.

The heatwave is still on ... today was 33 degrees ... yes it's a lot cooler than last week but nevertheless still hot and uncomfortable with no wind blowing. Humidity has also risen. One thing for sure ... all that talk about the coronavirus being killed by summer heat? Not true ... fake news. On the contrary it's spreading even fasting.
Only one plant seems to be enjoying this heatwave ... cacti. They're blooming everywhere. All other plants have withered and fruit are burnt and scorched. Even plastic flowers in the public streets are not doing well ... drooping to near melting.
My headache is still not going away. And my feet hurt. I've been drinking lots of water and staying indoors. Nights are equally hot and most of us cannot sleep because of the heat. Didn't go to work today ... I just can't walk the 1km uphill. Let's hope tomorrow I'll get better.
