As we had expected, the car-hits-stonethrowing-boys incident has reached a conclusion that raises no eyebrows : the boy is under house arrest while the car-driver is free. http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=191684 

Today we have 5 new saints. These include Sr. Mary McKillop of Australia and Bro. Andre of Canada. Bro. Andre, a lay brother of the Holy Cross congregation suffered much in fulfilling his vision of a shrine to St. Joseph on Mt. Royale in Montreal. When his superiors came down hard on him, it was the poor laity of Montreal who stood up for him and realised his dream. So too Mary McKillop, who was excommunicated for 5 years, only to be cleared later when her sisters stood up for her. Tough times being a religious these days.




I'm so happy for the Chinese communities in Sydney and Melbourne; and the chinese community of Montreal especially those who brought me up to St Joseph's shrine twice. Really proud for/with you guys for giving the Church two inspiring models!
