Day of Rage

It's 4.45am and I'm preparing to go to the Sisters of Ivrea for Mass. They have Mass early - at 6am. I'm substituting Jobi who's not feeling well.

Don't know what to expect when I reach the City Gate (Herod's Gate): the sisters' convent is outside the Old City. The papers say there'll be big problems today. Apparently busloads of Bedouins from the desert are coming to join in the protest http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=171085  And the Palestine Authorities have declared today "Day of Rage" - http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1156775.html

And if anything, the weather has been reflecting the tensions in the city. A hazy heat wave overtook us for the past few days. Stifling hot in Spring ... 35 degrees!!! http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1156768.html  Now that's something to rage over.
