| My little garden |
So it rained the whole night. Well at least it drizzled when it wasn't raining. The sky is finally cleansed from the dust and pollution. The streets are slippery from the months of grime and require a a good scrub. Everything seems fresh again. We really needed this rain. Now if only it will continue raining for the whole week ... the govt. is warning of a drought year if it doesn't rain. Anyway the plants are the happiest. My little garden is in full bloom ... nasturtiums, freesias, hyacinths, muscari, anemones, margarita daisies, cyclamen, marigolds. The bees and butterflies and honey-suckers are flocking on our terrace. Great sight. And the perfume is awesome. And while everyone is wowing at this, I'm happy I planted each one of them ... from seed and bulbs.

| Home-baked sfiha in a box |
Yesterday Khalil the cook baked sfiha ... which are like mini-pizzas with meat toppings. In fact locals insist italian pizza originated from the Middle East : "pitta" becoming "pidda" (turkish) to "pizza".Khalil kept a box of fresh, hot sfiha for me while I was at work (yes I work even on Sundays ... I work 7 days a week with no rest). When I had half an hour to spare, I ate the whole lot. It was really nice.
