Cemetary

The skies continue to be overcast and cold. The canaries are well-covered with their cage from the cold and are eating extra to keep warm. Shops have their heaters on; and people are well wrapped up as they go about in the streets.

My BP is on the rise these two days. Headaches were the first sign. Measured the BP on my handy little machine: it was 132 / 89 this afternoon. Hope this is just a temporary fluctuation.

The economic crisis is hitting hard even in the soup kitchens here in Israel. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7763172.stm On every TV evangelist channel, pastors are on fulldrive in picking Bible passages on charity giving, God's blessings to the giver, etc... and of course while "studying' the Bible, the address and contact to give donations flash across the screen. Mind you, even Mother Angelica's EWTN is hit bad.

Schindler for example is buried in our cemetary near the Last Supper room; a bishop of China is buried in the garden of Gethsemani; well, the biggest name of all - Jesus Christ's tomb is still around ....... duuuh. As a matter of fact, a visit to Jerusalem is like visiting one huge cemetary where the famous and fame-less mingle in the earth. They didn't get buried here at the end of their lives - they were buried here to begin eternal life. I'm booking front-seat.
