Thanks for the quick response to my (our) appeal for the Kassis family - Andrew Chau (Canada) and Agnes Leung.

Today's continuation of Jame's letter (1st reading) tells us that faith without good works is empty. I was pleasantly surprised by Pastor Kong Hee (City Harvest Church, Singapore) who preached that James was correct and Christians (protestants) should put good works and faith together. That is quite different from the traditional protestant theology of salvation by faith alone, not good works. Pastor Kong, young man and vibrant preacher, has solid theological studies - which is often lacking in many other tv evangelists. last week I heard him quoting St Thomas Aquinas. Now that is something! Our own catholics don't even know who Thomas Aquinas is!

So people, search your hearts and put your faith in action - do some good work and help.
