Controversy and dissatisfaction has been snowballing for the past week here in Israel. Firstly there is a rising call for the govt. to investigate the case of missing Israeli children in the 1950s. At the birth of the State of Israel, thousands of Middle Eastern jews (from Yemen, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco ) who have migrated to the new country had their children simply disappeared. out. claims they died of disease but events in the following decades seem to show that they are still alive. Conspiracy theory says they were kidnapped and given to Western Jews (European, American). Implosive topic ... I wonder how it will end.
Secondly consternation is the nomination of the Israeli Army's chief rabbi ... apparently from the newspapers he had permitted rape during war, a men only army, and other extremist views. It frightens the majority that the army is swinging to rightwing extremism led by rabbis.

It seems that Israel is falling apart from within. And it shouldn't. Because it will make itself an easy target for enemies in the north and south to strike.
