Saturday

Yesterday wasn't as peaceful as I thought. When I had to go out with our janitor to East Jerusalem to buy lots of stuff, we walked out of the City through Herod's Gate. All along the way we saw stones strewn everywhere, garbage bins burnt to cinder and rubbish littering the streets. There was quite a violent clash ... just outside our school wall, but I didn't know anything because I stayed indoors.  http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/09/24/israel.toddler.death/index.html

The weather has been very humid. The mornings see the Mt. of Olives all shrouded by mist. This morning the clouds even covered up the full moon. And it drizzled at about 10am.

Tomorrow is the Birkat Kohanim - the Priestly Blessing of Jewish priests given at the Wailing Wall. I will go early to catch the 1st blessing and remember you all there. This is the blessing of Aaron the first High Priest and is found in Numbers 6:23-27. It is still used in our Liturgy and also by St Francis of Assisi.
