Assumption Day

More rioting regarding the carpark opening on the Sabbath. The ultra-orthodox Jews came out by the hundreds to protest, as they have done for the past two months. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1107662.html

Today is Assumption Day. Solemn Mass was celebrated at the Tomb of Mary in the Garden of Gethsemani. The Custos presided. Later at 4pm solemn vespers was sung. I went instead to the Holy Sepulchre for the daily procession. And yes I prayed for you all. It is always such a new experience each time I come to the procession. Singing the hymns and praying the prayers at each altar recalling the Passion and Resurrection .... especially when the word "here" is always used ... it all happened "here"... it's very unique. And today thoughts of you guys were very profound. Said a prayer for you all when Fr Gabriel raised the Sacred Host for benediction, that Christ who resurrected here will bless you all.
