It would have been a perfect ending of a day - two evenings back, when all the friars in Judea gathered at the Basilica of Gethsemani to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Order, and the renewal of our vows. But on the way back, we were accosted by a large group of Jewish students who spat at us in the face and everywhere else - en masse. The police who stood by did nothing but only gave excuses that they were only kids (some in their 20s!!!!). Which civilization would stand for that? What law and order?

We are still full of indignation that such anti-christian attitudes are so blatently and hatefully expressed by young Jews. Where did they learn that from? And the police and soldiers who did nothing to stop them..... Anti-christianity is not just in India and Iraq, people..... it's alive here as well.
