Church attacked the 3rd time in 4 years

Statues smashed at Beit
Gemal Church
Yesterday Friday was a little tense ...what with both Jews and Muslims celebrating the first weekend of their New Years. Police presence was massive at every corner of the major roads and alleys in our Quarter. Cars were not allowed to enter. Only pedestrians are permitted to enter. Out on Damascus Gate, the left and right flanks of the cavea now have raised platforms so the police stand higher up and have a vantage view of the roads above and the Gate below. And there were many many stop-and-searches of arabs entering the Old City. Today was a little less tense but as it's the interim days between the Jewish New Year and Day of Atonement, lots of Jews go tot he Wailing Wall to perform Selichot or prayers of repentence. So the police had to protect them as they walked down Damascus Gate, crossings ways with the muslims going to the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Well not everyone went to the Mosque or the Wailing Wall ... most of the people took a day off to go to the parks to barbecue and spend quality time with the family.  https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-5019471,00.html

Everyone here is having a great laugh regarding the Saudi cleric who said women have only half a brain and when they shopping it shrinks to one quarter ... hence they're not allowed to drive cars. I mean ... really? In this age and time? People still talk like that? I wonder what influenced him to have such a mentality?   http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Saudi-cleric-suspended-for-saying-women-cant-drive-due-to-brain-shinkage-505710

But a serious and disgusting crime was committed the day before ... the Jewish New Year. Vandals destroyed the altars and stained glass windows and statues of the Salesian Church in Beit Gemal. It is the 3rd time in 4 years attacks have been committed in this church and no one has ever  be arrested. It's time the rest of the world open it's mouth and protest till the Israeli govt. does something serious investigation and arrest the perpetrators. If it were committed in a synagogue you can be sure arrests would have been made within 24 hours. Christian persecution exists in Israel only because the perpetrators are protected by rabbis and politicians.
