Electric storm

An amazing electrical storm we had last night that lasted into the early morning. Lightening and thunder that we have not seen for a long time. Several lightenings came close to our house. At about 11.30pm our electric system tripped and the museum alarm went off. It rained till 6am. Hopefully this will keep up again today to soak the dry land.

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. In the Office of Readings, we read from a letter of St Bernadette Soubirous recounting what happened. I was surprised by a fact that is seldom noted: Our Lady appeared standing on two yellow roses. Her rosary was also yellow. I think it'd be nice to put up yellow roses today to commemorate her apparition in Lourdes. I wonder how come this yellow rose was never used as an emblem for the apparition.

Israeli elections: close win for Likud and Kadima. It'll be interesting to see who'll form the coalition since both only won 27 or 28 seats. A majority of 61 seats is required.
