Today is the memorial of Mary's Queenship. It's a followup of last week's feast of the Assumption; and is part of the glorious mysteries of the rosary. It's also the feastday of the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Theresa's sisters). I celebrated Mass the last two days of the Triduum for them. We've been praying hard for special intentions, and we remember one confrere who's seriously ill right now. Today is also the birthday of Mother Theresa and is the beginning of the novena to her feastday in September. I'm sure Mother Theresa will intercede on our behalf. The desperate situation we find ourselves in is well reflected in today's reading from the prophet Ezekiel about the Valley of Dry Bones. After the intercession of the prophet, a wind blows and the bones rattle and come back together with flesh and sinews. They came back to life. May God, through the intercession of Mary and Mother Theresa, bring us back to life.
