Justice anyone?

Confrontations on unequal
playing fields
I am disturbed ... very disturbed. During this week's violence in the Old City, the govt passed new legislature that permits police to shoot bullets at stone-throwers ... meaning arabs ... because "stones kill people". However at the same time rightwing groups are howling at the govt for extending the detention of jewish terrorists as abuse of power and illegal. How come there are double standards? How come when an arab throw stones, he gets arrested, shot and his house is bulldozed to the ground, potentially losing his citizenship. But when a jew burns a church, sets an arab family on fire killing baby and parents he is only detained, not charged, and his detention is considered illegal and abuse of power by other jews? This cannot be biblical; this cannot be how judaism was founded on. This is very disturbing.

And if you think riots are initiated only by arabs .... today ultra-orthodox jews rioted in their Mea Shearim neighbourhood against compulsory conscription to military service; they have avoided this legislature since the founding of the State of Israel. But of course breaking the law for over 60 years has not put anyone of them in jail, nor detained, nor charged ....   http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Dozens-of-ultra-orthodox-protest-Army-conscription-near-Jerusalem-416707

And talking about justice ... jewish supermodel Bar Rafaeli will be married next week and doting govt ministers immediately called for a no-fly zone over the Carmel Forest where the wedding would be held; that means no commercial or private or military aircrafts allowed to fly over there. Halloo? For a wedding? There was a public outcry and finally today the Minister of Transport called off the no-fly order because "the skies of Israel belong to all Israelis" ... I know most of you reading this who live outside of our area find this at least amusing ... or at most shocked by the ludicrous and blatent flouting of law and order; or democratic equality; or common sense ... but this is a reality here.
