Help sponsor a catholic student

Violence continues in several pockets of the country. The main area these last 2 days is Jenin, a palestinian village near Galilee. Traditionally this is the village where Christ met the 10 lepers and cured them but only the Samaritan returned to thank him. An Israeli operation to arrest a Hamas official led to riots. In fact, riots are still taking place now.

There is a viral video of an israeli soldier grabbing the neck of a 10 yr old boy in a headlock, the boy had a broken arm in sling. It took place in an arab village of Nabi Saleh where the arabs are protesting the building of a jewish settlement on their land. Some had been throwing stones at Israeli soldiers. Western activists tried to intervene but were rebuffed. Then many arab women decided to take things into their own hands. They grabbed the soldier and tried to pull the boy away from him. One redeeming thing though ... the soldier was very restraint and did not hit out at the women who were practically clawing  him to pieces.

While schools throughout Israel and Palestine started on Monday, christian schools in Israel went on strike instead on the 1st day of school. The Israeli Ministry of Education has decided to cut 45% of its subsidy to christian schools thus creating financial difficulties in most christian families to pay for school fees. The economic situation in the country is dire and most people hold 2 jobs just to get by. Now without this subsidy, christian families will be forced to let their children abandon school because there is simply no way they can help pay the fees. If you wish to help sponsor a catholic child to school for this academic year 2015-2016, write to me. It costs approximately US$1100 per child for one academic year. Be a blessing to the Middle Eastern christians!
