| Palm Plaza empty ... on strike |
Today the arabs are on strike in remembrance of the 100+ dead in Gaza. The streets were very quiet and empty. All the shops and offices were closed. As early as 6am, clashes started in the surrounding arab villages of the Old City. Our workers who live in those areas came out to work early so as to avoid a lockdown. And I was told the checkpoints between Israel and Palestine will be closed indefinitely. And Lebanon fired 3 rockets into Israel this morning as well. This is all going very badly.
What is worrying is not just getting bombed by being in the wrong place at the wrong time ... but the cost of food and vegetables and just about everything else will rise as a result of this war. I think sooner or later, people will start to hoard. It's inevitable as all out disruption in every city and town and even the closure of the airport ... the flow of products are restricted. I dread what will happen ... the Corona lockdown has already ruined families and jobs ... this war is the final straw to break the camel's back.
