But beneath the calm of Jerusalem, leftwing newspapers are publishing articles that seem disturbing: East Jerusalem arabs who are stateless and without citizenship ; and arab housing has been trumped up to stir fear among the jews. This actually amounts to incitement. And the plight of Gaza's now that electricity has been reduced to almost only 2 hours a day while raw sewage flows in the streets.

The arab shopkeepers opposite our place have videoed a jewish girl spitting at our Church every time she passes by. She does it all the time in front of jewish security men who do nothing. If anyone else had spat at a synagogue, it would be anti-semitism and be arrested. This is the type of christian persecution we face here in Israel.

The weather continues to be very hot but luckily today there was a nice breeze blowing. Shopkeepers have moved their wares out into the streets because it's cooler and also to draw more business as muslim visitors have fallen by a quarter of a million since the crackdown after the stabbings last week. I managed to go to work but it was such a hurricane of meetings that I almost could not catch up. I was exhausted by the afternoon but there was more work to do ... some other M. Teresa's sisters came from Syria and Amman and I had to go give something to them. Got the latest news of the region from them. By the time I returned home it was 10.30pm. Tomorrow is another hectic day ... so I'll have to sleep early.
