So there seems to be a conspiracy to fatten me up these few days. The other day everyone was cooking everything to feed me: makloubeh by Khalil, a fruit loaf by his wife, sfiha by Nadia, cummin rice and lamb in Roquefort cheese sauce by Jamil. Too much! I gave most away to the sisters of Mother Theresa.
A hamper also arrived with lots of chocolates. I'm giving all that to the girls at St. Vincent's Children's Home.
The weather is still strange and its causing alot of ache in my knees and ankles. Doesn't help one bit when I've been running up and down the Cities (New and Old) to get errands done before Christmas strikes. Most of the guys have already gone home for the holidays and I've to do most of the jobs this week. Not as young as I use to be, so it's tiring on the old body.

One thing I had to do was to buy sufgoniot for the Spanish sisters of Calvary. They have been praying and giving me moral support all this time. And as a little sign of thanks during Christmas I thought I'd give them some of the Hanukkah jelly-doughnuts. Went to my favourite french bakery in King George Street and voila! the cook was making fresh sufgoniot right before me!

3 days to Christmas ... all the excitement in the streets. I'll be spending it quietly at home ... with no TimTams, sufgoniot or char siew.
