Will it rain?

Rainclouds over Jerusalem
October slips by ... and November creeps in. 2011 is coming to an end. And for some of us, it's a relief. The rains of Sukkot ought to fall ... but all we get are dark rainclouds. There was a momentary shower in Tel Aviv - about 5 minutes. In Jerusalem there was a brief drizzle. But the cold has set in. Nights go down to 11 degrees and mornings are 16 degrees. Days go up to 26 degrees. But the cold wind blows ... and everyone is wrapped up for the chill.

Tourists continue to flood the City, causing jams at every street corner. And last Friday's tensions between Palestinians and Israelis at various villages in the Territories have resulted in more military presence in the City. Well, perhaps rain would disperse the crowds and cool down the tension.

Meantime I saw a banner hanging out on a balcony ... "At any price?" Good question ... are some things worth paying at any price? Have we got our priorities right? As we head towards the end of 2011, let's ask ourselves this question.
