Trinity feast day

It's Trinity Sunday again .... and most pastors were cringing in trying to organise a homily at Mass. It's a very difficult topic to reach because it's very abstract. Strange that we have this feast separately celebrated because the other ancient Orthodox churches celebrate it on Pentecost Day. Anyway I had no shortage of priests contacting me asking how to preach the readings for this feast.

I was at lunch at the Last Supper monastery ... sounds funny but yes there's a community of friars living next to the Last Supper Room and they care for this sanctuary. The superior, whom I knew almost 30 yrs ago when he was a novice, is leaving this mission and he invited me over for a farewell lunch. It was good to see him again and not easy to say goodbye after these 30 yrs of collaboration here in Jerusalem.

The weather has become cooler by almost 10 degrees compared to last year. Very pleasant. Holidays officially began yesterday for us and tomorrow very many of our students and profs will be leaving our university campus. Finally our house will cease frenetic academic activities ... and I am free to do more gardening.

Tel Aviv University has been called out for an exchange programme in agricultural science that went very wrong. Students from foreign countries came only to study 1 month in the university and spent the other 14 months harvesting fruit and veggies in the fields with Thai migrant workers. Free labour in other words.
