Have been out of action these few days. Trying to rest. Saw our monastery doc several days back to give him my hospital records. Got a contradictory diagnosis from him. He said I should not take the hospital's prescribed pills as it's for severe cases only and the dosage is too high (25 mg 3 times a day). He gave me another type which he said is for beginners and only need half a tablet a day. So I didn't know what to do. Everyone at home here tells me to follow the hospital's advice and continue with the strong dosage. I'm getting used to it, and the BP is down to normal : 130 / 77 but I'm feeling terribly tired all the time. I think I'll have to go back to Nazareth for a follow-up checkup maybe next week.
Anyway the hospital went through alot of checking up my past and now some mysteries are cleared - like my almost daily nosebleeds for the past 2 years, the severe headaches that went on for the past 2 years as well.
Am trying to start studying again but less pressure to keep up with my schedule. Matthew has gone home for his operation. I've been lamenting around the house (they call me the wailing phantom) that he gets to go home but I can't. Let's see if I can wear them down. meantime Fr Manns is down with a cold, and Fr Piccirillo I think also has high blood pressure because I saw him at the doc's, and he was speaking about it during meals.
Anyway I'm not eating the sisters' food because they always have to put salt in it whether you like it or not. They always say "But in Poland we always cook like this .... " Little do they realise they're in Israel cooking for an international community. The Missionaries of Charity yesterday cooked dinner for me - white rice (with no salt) and barbecued chicken. It was a nice break from eating salt-free wheat-crackers in my room.
