The drizzle continues today, the fog is thicker and the temperature has dropped drastically. Everyone here is sure it'll snow soon. There's already snow on Mt. Hermon up in the north but of course Mt. Hermon is alot higher than Jerusalem. We'll wait for news from Bethlehem - it's higher than Jerusalem so usually it snows first in Bethlehem thena few hours later, in Jerusalem. I wonder how the Magi must have felt when they came from the desert into snowy Bethlehem 2000 years ago. All the professors and students up on my floor are lamenting how cold it is without heating. I pity poor Jean Paul from Africa. He really cannot take the cold and is now sick. I bought him a small "hot air fan" as he couldn't afford one, but it's so cold it's practically useless unless he keeps it on the whole day. The cold is affecting my ankle and it has been hurting for the past 3 days. Got it all wrapped up now and hopefully the pain will go away. But if it snows - it'll be a nice to take our minds away from the cold. I asked at breakfast what everyone is doing today (it'sThursday and so no lessons) and the almost unanimous answer was "huddle up in the room".
I dreamt of Regis last night: running around and playing with him, hugging him. I miss the poor boy very very much.
The closures of the streets in Jerusalem is massive. Check out the BBC link report on this!

I hesitate to go out today because of the road blocks, security checks and wet, slippery roads. But somehow something is telling me I have to go out for something or other - can't remember why.
Sr. Geronima is missing for 2 days. Nobody wants to ask the superior where she went. Perhaps it's one of those transfers done quietly so as not to cause upset to anyone. Maybe that's why she cried that morning.
I'm making changes to my bibliography now but something has been frustrating me for 2 days - I remember reading a book in the library but put it back without remembering the author, title or call number. Now I've been searching the entire library for 2 days book by book and still cannot find it. Will continue today.
Today's first reading for Mass was the 1st Letter of John about loving one another as God first loved us. We talked about it during breakfast and concluded that we need to reflect more intensely the moments when we felt God's love for us. Otherwise we'll only focus on love for others or love from others, which is very fleeting and sometimes false or misguided. And that comes back to our faith-formation (yesterday's video-conferencing lesson) about the Final Judgement. It's all about God's love and mercy; not just condemnation and punishment. How much do you feel loved by God?
